(1960-1963) Chapter 8: "Combining Music And Film Career"

ROAD TO NASHVILLE TO RECORD "SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY"

"Wild in the Country," co-starring Hope Lange, Millie Perkins and Tuesday Weld, makes its national premiere on June 22, 1961 to mixed reviews. Like "Flaming Star," it is a melodrama with few performances. musicals by Elvis.

Also in June, the album "Something For Everybody" comes out. It hit the charts in July, staying for 25 weeks and spending three of those weeks at #1. Recorded in Nashville, it's an album made up of fast songs and ballads.

Elvis is very satisfied with these recordings, among which one of his favorite songs stands out, such as Don Robertson's composition "There's Always Me". From the sessions for "Something For Everybody" will come his future hit single "I Feel So Bad" which will be accompanied on its B-side by the song and title of his movie "Wild In The Country".
