Blue Suede Shoes had already appeared in March of that year 56 in what would be the first long-play and extended play of Elvis Presley's career. An essential title in the history of rock'n'roll, it was composed by one of its greatest legends, Carl Perkins. Perkins's version is magnificent but Presley elevated it to the altars of music. It was take number ten that was used to appear on the LP and subsequent single. It is currently certified as a gold record by the R.I.A.A. It entered the charts on March 28, 1956 thanks to the appearance on the Elvis Presley EP, having as its best position number twenty-four on the Billboard charts.

As for his B-side, no version will be able to match that of the wayward Little Richard, who would lead to success in 1955. Elvis, with the lyrics somewhat softened thanks to the touches of Robert Blackwell, made a magnificent version thanks also to the work the good old Scotty Moore on guitar. The take chosen as the master was number ten, although it would not be able to enter the lists. It was also included in the LP and EP Elvis Presley appeared in March of that year 56.
