Released in July 1958, the "King Creole Vol.1" EP contained four songs that would be included on the "King Creole" LP. fans bought everything that came out of their idol's market.
More than 500,000 copies were sold commercially, and this EP was number 1 on the Billboard charts. Currently the EP "King Creole Vol.1" is listed by the RIAA as a platinum disc.
